How much do lessons cost?A 60 minute session is £35 and a 30 minute session is £20. It is completely up to you as to which you would prefer although I would suggest an hour is most effective for adults and 30 minute sessions work best for younger children. But I'm always happy to discuss options and make lessons as accessibe as possible for all. So I can get to know your voice and understand your personal goals, our first lesson together will always be an hour. After that, it's all about what works for you.

What will we cover in lessons?A basic lesson structure will consist of a gentle warm up, followed by uniquesly designed exercises specific to your vocal needs, finishing with applying new found techniques to song work. Which songs you wish to work on is entirely up to you and depends largely on your personal goals and experience. If you are an experienced performer, it's likely that you'll already have repertoire you wish to work on. However, if you're looking for guidance as to appropriate audition material or genres suited to your voice, that is absoloutely what I am here to provide. If you are new to singing, it may be that you're not entirley sure what genres suit your voice or indeed what you would like to sing just yet. That's absolutely fine too - we all have to start somewhere and I am here to offer help and give suggestions.

Do you offer Skype lessons? If so, how do they work?"Yes I do, however this option is best suited to those who have quite a bit of vocal experience and maybe just need some coaching for a particular event or audition. It may be that you're on tour or perhaps you just need a one off lesson to go over a particular piece before an audition. Whatever the circumstance, all you need is the Skype App and fairly strong internet connection. That's it!

Do you hold a teaching Qualification?Yes, I have a certificate from BAST, also known as 'Be A Singing Teacher', fast becoming recognised as a leading training ground worldwide. The focus is largely on the anatomical mechanics of the voice and how by applying technique to songs we can strengthen these mechanics, creating greater vocal flexibilty, tone, pitch, range and muscularity. But you will also benefit from my own extensive vocal training spanning the course of 20 years. Having to work in such different genres including Classical and New Age Musical theatre, Pop and Rock has meant my own training has been extremely varied.

Do you teach group singing as well as individually?Yes, I am more than happy to teach small groups or choirs. The focus will be more on creating a unified, well blended sound using various breath management and vocal technique excercises. It may be that you are part of a duo or trio and are preparing for an upcoming event, needing help with harmonies, blend or dynamics. Whatever you need, I'm more than happy to assist.

Do you play the piano?I play scales so we can work through technique excercises and build on muscularity, but I coach through song work with the use of backing tracks. Because I am a vocals and performance coach, playing the piano isn't essential.

Do you teach children as well as adults?Yes, absoloutely. I have lots of experience teaching both singing and drama with children and young people. If you are booking lessons for your child, you are more than welcome to sit in classes so you can enjoy the experience and admire their progress!
